Wow, our friends from Suicycle in Hamburg came up with something huge! Just in time for the Eurobike 2010 in Friechshafen, they launched their own in-house Bike Company. The also new website looks great and they are introducing a lot of new stuff. Available in Spring 2011.
Some softgoods to show your attitude and also a solid range of track and trick frames. Made from high quality tubes and built to last. Especially the trick frames are bomb proof.
Personally I think this will change the German and hopefully the European market, there is a need for quality Parts. To much cheap crap out there…
Kind of a silent update so far on aurora-collective.com. Two new colorways and a redesigned grey/black version of their straps online for some days now. Check them out and get yourself a pair of those here.
Bicycle Portraits is great and interesting project from south africa. a mystery for most of us and i think mostly unknown. this project gives a inside look on bicycle culture in this area of the world.
every bike pictured is unique and so is the owner. different opinions and ways of using this two wheeled thing. pretty interesting. i talked to one of the makers of the book and he seem to be a good guy with great ideas in mind. this project is def. worth a look and of course a great thing to help.
check out the following pages to get a idea about this and make sure to pleadge some books. the book yo’ll get in the end will be worth it!
I really dig this old and edgy stem. It looks like architecture, not really a bike part, but a piece of art.
Sadly those beauties are pretty rare, especially in shorter versions. So Cinelli decided to re-issue it and fit it a 1-1/8th steerer tubes. Pretty nice, was waiting for this. Sadly at the moment it is only announced that it will fit oversized bars, hopefully they will release a 25,4 or 26mm version aswell.
AURORA collective teamed up with MONOW, a one-man design studio based in Stuttgart/Germany.
Together they designed 3 unique Bike Jerseys / Jackets. All with a simple but sophisticated style,
because they don’t wanted to create something that makes you look like a advertising pillar.
The designs will look good on and off bike, whether you ride in the mountains or in the urban environment.
The Jerseys and Jackets are made of high quality materials by Champion System.
They will move and breath with you, so that you can concentrate on riding your bike.
Each design is available in a shortsleeve and longsleeve version and you can choose from fullzip or 3/4 zip. Also each design is available as a Winter Riding Jacket. This jacket is windproof and got a three-layer fleece. So it will keep you warm even in the coldest situations.
Check out the AURORA webshop and preorder your Jersey / Jacket.
The jerseys will be shipped in the beginning of july.
How can i introduce SWRVE in a appropriate way?
I think the title speaks for itself, but it takes some more words to describe this kind of passion:
“A late-night ride though a nearly deserted downtown. Casual rides to run errands.
Whizzing past rush-hour traffic. Fighting traffic as stress relief.
It is in this spirit that swrve was founded in the summer of 2005. We are passionate about
bikes but we don’t look so good in spandex.
Swrve makes stylish urban cycling apparel. Our design concept has always been clean and simple
lines. Form follows function, a dash of elegance and a dash of street.
We love riding in the city.”
- the founders of SWRVE
Today i got my order from the SWRVE base in the UK. Only took around 3 days to arrive. I’m amazed by such great workmanship and the passion SWRVE puts in every piece. Everything is well designed and with so much intelligent details.
I ordered a cotton trouser, a short with DWR, merino baselayer and a hiding hoodie.
All handmade in the US, with the best materials and also awareness for fair trade and fair working conditions.
And the best thing: the prices are reasonable, too.
Had the trouser, hoodie and baselayer on for some rides today and the performance was great. The weather wasn’t that good, about 13° and really windy, but the cloth kept me warm. Not bad.
You might have heard about VELO CULT, it’s a great source for classic bikes and bike culture in general. They also have really nice shop, where you can find rare parts and really beautiful bikes. Sky, the founder, also loves to take photographs and the last few years he made a lot. From framebuilders, bikes, events or anything related to the bike community he took pictures and now he will release a huge photobook with the best shoots.
Check out the following previews of the book and stay tuned. It will be released pretty soon…
