Willem from Enschede is hosting a alleycat this weekend. He calls it “artycat” and it sounds really interesting.
The race is going to be part of my final exhibition show for art-school. The
racers will be riding around with parts of the exhibition and the winner has
to put his manifest on the wall. On the back of each manifest is an original
poem, written by me. So it’s up to chance and speed which poem is going to be
featured on my exhibition.
You must know that my work revolves around the concept “place”. The house on
the spokecards is actually a project I did. I built a small house on top of
the art-academy. A place for thinking, dreaming, being.
Just like a bike.
Because for me a bike is a destination, not just a way of transport. Being on
the bike. Riding.
Anyway, that’s the idea and that’s why I organised the alleycat.
I think this is a great concept and of course a nice plan for a saturday afternoon. So make sure to visit Enschede this weekend.

Berlin is proud to host the 2nd Annual World Hardcourt Bike Polo Championships!
This event will bring 64 of the best teams from around the globe for a three-day tournament to Berlin. The event will be held at the four-court Sportcenter Rennbahnstrasse Berlin-Weissensee! This years’ event is being organized by the same crew that brought you the Bike Polo competition of last years’ 14th Annual European Cycle Messenger Championships at Tempelhof Airport.
Other highlights of this years’ event will be on-site camping and hostelry (including showers), lighted night-time play and attendant night-time tournaments, complimentary breakfasts, and unspeakably low prices for food and beverages at all other times throughout the course of the event. All of this will be included for the reasonable entrance fee of 60 euros per team.

This May the 2nd European Handmade Bicycle Exhibition will take place in Schwäbisch Gmünd near Stuttgard. For three days more than 90 companies will show their handmade bike-products. Fixie Inc. will be there, as well as other brands known for high quality road and track bikes like Cicli Berlinetta or Geekhouse Bikes. A Münster-based bike company also will be there; Quitmann will show their classic steel bikes that are manufactured here in Münster. This show will definitely be worth a visit.
“fixed city“, a documentary film about the development of Berlin’s fixed gear scene over the past years, is shown in Dresden next weekend. The guys over there set up an alleycat therefore, so don’t miss this fine event if you are around..
A new store will be officially opened next weekend.

Ach ja: 3, 2, 1 Polo!
Kämmt das Zaumzeug, sattelt die Böcke: Bike Polo Münster läd zum ersten offizielen Polo-Abend eines hoffentlich langen Bikepolo-Sommers! Dazu ist jeder, der ein Fahrrad besitzt herzlichst eingeladen. Schläger sind in ausreichender Zahl vorhanden, was uns nun noch fehlt sind Spieler, die Lust auf den derbsten Sport der Welt haben. Also, erzählt es euren Freunden und Freundinnen, schnappt euch ein paar Biere und ein Rad und kommt am nächsten Donnerstag vorbei. Wir treffen uns um 17:00 Uhr vorm Plan B am Hansaring. Je nach Wetterlage fahren wir dann gemeinsam zu einem geeigneten Spielort. Bis dahin, 3 … 2 … 1 … POLO!
Wer Lust hat, kann auch gerne schon am Dienstag mit zu den Velopolo-Boys nach Bielefeld mitfahren. Es wird Besuch aus Köln geben, eventuell ist Hannover auch wieder am Start. Wenn ihr da Bock drauf habt, hinterlasst einfach einen Kommentar, dann können wir im Mob hinfahren.
