Nice collaboration from Pristine Fixed Gear and San Marco. The classic concor in a all vegan version. Limited to only 200 pieces. Really like the hint with the X, refering to straight edge…
This is a journey of a group of seven fixed gear riders who decided to take the hard way from Stuttgart to Barcelona by bike.
About 1500 Km of hills, countryside, nature, sea and a lot of fun. They left Stuttgart at 23th July and arrived in Barcelona at the 02nd August. The whole trip was documented by film and photo and here’s the trailer for the upcoming DVD and Photobook package.
There is a huge fixed gear scene over in London, sadly I didn’t had the chance to make it to this great city yet…but hopefully I will some time soon. Until then it’s great to check out The 5th Floor regularly. They are very busy posting new stuff, taking pictures, producing videos and also organizing events. The page is worth a look and so also the pictures of Angus Sung are. He is kind of the personal photographer of this group of riders…
Brenton Salo is on of the busy bike photographers over in the states, nearly daily documenting the fixed gear scene and providing great images. I really like his work.
So I thought I can make a exception and post the first fixed gear freestyle pictures in the blog.
I’m not much into this freestyle thing, but this gap is huge and also there is a fun picture story behind. Speaking of Patricks blog PEDAL consumption in the last post, I now can also put one of his photography attempts up. Looks like a spy pic, but being a photographer myself, I like pictures of photographers who take pictures.
Next time, try to not cut off Brenton that much, Patrick.
Our favorite bike blog PEDAL Consumption teamed up with BLAQ bags and finally released their new designed hip pouch. It looks great. You can check out some detailed pics on PCs flickr.
This is what PC says about the pouch:
The main compartment can hold all your basic essentials. Tire tubes, tools, gloves, wallets, keys, sunglasses, snacks, and more … all can be stowed away. The two side pockets are perfect for tire levers, multi-tools, writing utensils, etc. The front pocket can be used to hold both your iPhone and MP3 player. These hip pouches also feature a floating interior liner for durability, insulation, and easy access for cleaning. The adjustable quick release belt can expand up to 40 waist.
Without a doubt, a design that is admired both for its beauty and for its functionality!
Features: • 1000D Cordura Construction
• Interior Floating Liner
• Waterproof
• Spacious Main Compartment
• 2 Column Side Pockets
• 1 Large Front Pocket
• Integrated Mini U-Lock Holster
• Cordura Belt Loop
• Adjustable Quick Release Belt
• Custom Screen Printed PC Logo

Every city has its indigenous bike culture, the result of a subtle interaction of people with transport infrastructure, built environment, traffic regulations and bylaws, social custom and practice. To make a transition from cycling in one city to another is both to encounter novelty and difference and to see your origins anew.
This prototype was spotted in a back room of the Cinelli booth at Eurobike 2010. Looks like 2011 is going to be pretty interesting. Hopefully there will be more news on this beauty soon.
Nice story over hat Gavins blog called SPINWELL. Really like his blog, it’s a bit more focused on classic race bikes and the history behind. He comes up with a lot good stuff to view and also to read.
He had the chance to visit the Reynolds Tubing factory and here is his story about it.
Some time ago the good people at Pristine Fixed Gear in Amsterdam introduced their own custom track frame. Just saw it today, but I’m totally stoked and in love with it….and I think i found my present for this years christmas. This steel beauty is handbuild in Italy using Columbus Thron tubing. I think the price of 750€ is not really a steal, but really worth it. You can choose the chrome design, size and of course the colour. There is also a metallic paint possible. I especially like the Geo of this frame. Slightly pursuit with a sloping top tube, and it still takes 2x 700c wheels.
If you are around Amsterdam, make sure to check out the store and also take this frame built up for a spin.
