CADENCE collection “Lorem Ipsum” now available

Dustin Klein from Cadence finished his new collection and it’s available from now on in his new webshop. He was pretty busy and comes up with a lot new gear and ideas. I like how he keeps his work DIY as much as possible and how he mixes skateboarding, bike culture and also art. Always great to see how creative minds evolve. His work is really worth a look.
There are pants, jackets, shirts, caps and much more available. So head over and get yourself something nice for christmas.

FIXED CITY documentary – DVD

Dear track bike enthusiasts,

we are proud to announce the long awaited DVD release of  fixed city.

It has been a hell of a ride for us, since we came up with the idea of making a film about the fixed gear phenomenon. A film that captures German fixed gear culture on the crossroad between subculture and mainstream. A film that respectfully connects both worlds. A cycling documentary.

After six months of shooting in different locations throughout Germany and almost two months of editing, we finally celebrated the world premiere in Berlin on September 4th, 2009. Numerous screenings all over the world followed, such as unique events like the Bicycle Film Festival in Vienna, the Velofest in Skopje, Macedonia.

This DVD release is hand-stamped, hand-numbered and strictly limited to 150 copies only.
The DVD contains film (German, 16:9, Stereo, 36′) and trailer (German, 16:9, Stereo, 4’30″) with optional English subtitles.

Price:    9,50 €

Shipping & handling:
2 € – Germany
4 € – Europe
6 € – worldwide

The DVD will be available for shipping starting Monday, December 13th.

This documentary is really worth watching so make sure to get yourself a copy. You can contact those guys via email: info(at)fixedcity.de.

TRASH BAGS – new website

Ever heard of them? Me neither… Got a mail in my mailbox these days with a hint to their new website. The website looks nice and clean and so do the bags. These guys seem to do great work in their studio in Minneapolis. After 8 years of messengering and lot’s of backpacks and messenger bags Andy started to do his own bags. With the knowledge of the messenger needs, he designed his own bags and makes them for more than 2 years now. He still works as a messenger and with help of his friends he runs Trash Bags. They got some good prices on bags, backpacks and also hip bags. Besides this they really look decent. Also they are able to do custom works. Check out the custom gallery for this.

So if you really need a unique quality bag, which is not massproduced and ridden by everyone, you should check them out. Andy is a nice guy and helps you out with every information you need.

Check out their facebook for the latest news…

San Marco X Pristine: The Concor X

Nice collaboration from Pristine Fixed Gear and San Marco. The classic concor in a all vegan version. Limited to only 200 pieces. Really like the hint with the X, refering to straight edge

Vamos a la Playa Teaser

This is a journey of a group of seven fixed gear riders who decided to take the hard way from Stuttgart to Barcelona by bike.
About 1500 Km of hills, countryside, nature, sea and a lot of fun. They left Stuttgart at 23th July and arrived in Barcelona at the 02nd August. The whole trip was documented by film and photo and here’s the trailer for the upcoming DVD and Photobook package.

The 5th Floor – London

There is a huge fixed gear scene over in London, sadly I didn’t had the chance to make it to this great city yet…but hopefully I will some time soon. Until then it’s great to check out The 5th Floor regularly. They are very busy posting new stuff, taking pictures, producing videos and also organizing events. The page is worth a look and so also the pictures of Angus Sung are. He is kind of the personal photographer of this group of riders…

Photography by Brenton Salo

Brenton Salo is on of the busy bike photographers over in the states, nearly daily documenting the fixed gear scene and providing great images. I really like his work.
So I thought I can make a exception and post the first fixed gear freestyle pictures in the blog.

I’m not much into this freestyle thing, but this gap is huge and also there is a fun picture story behind. Speaking of Patricks blog PEDAL consumption in the last post, I now can also put one of his photography attempts up. Looks like a spy pic, but being a photographer myself, I like pictures of photographers who take pictures.

Next time, try to not cut off Brenton that much, Patrick.

Btw. there are some more shots from Josh…
